Patience and Trust When Allah’s Promise Seems Delayed

Patience and Trust When Allah’s Promise Seems Delayed

“Do not let the delay of what has been promised cause you to doubt its coming, for He has guaranteed the fulfillment of His promise in what He wills for you, not in what you will for yourself.” Ibn Ata’illah’s wisdom in his Hikam calls us to trust in Allah’s timing and decree.

When we experience delays in what we hope for—whether it be sustenance, guidance, or relief—we must not allow impatience to breed doubt. Allah’s promise is certain, but it unfolds according to His divine wisdom, not our limited perspective. What is truly best for us may not align with our immediate desires. True faith is in knowing that Allah’s will is always superior to our own, and trusting in that is the key to spiritual serenity.
